Pinot Noir grown and canned in the heart of Oregon and

House District 23

The 2023 Drink the House Red, Estate Pinot Noir was grown in the heart of House District 23, in the VanDuzer AVA, on my husband’s family farm. The first planting in the vineyard was done in 1991 and acres were added in 1997-1998. Today there is 105 acres of mixed pinot noir and pinot gris vines producing grapes for five wineries in the area and now “Drink the House Red”..

However, wine grapes are just a “crop” on the family farm which is primarily a grass seed farm. The farm also grows clover, turnips, radish and canola, all for seed, wheat for seed and export, as well as hazelnuts. Other crops are also added from time to time for rotation.

My husband and his brother run the 4th generation farm which has been in operation in the same area since 1933. When I am not in Salem I pitch in where I can on the farm, but the real farming is all done by them and our dedicated employees.
